 JOB TITLE: International Seasonal Lead Coach

DEPARTMENT: International Soccer School Department

LOCATION: Greece

CONTRACT: 35 hours per week, normally 6 of 7 days per week. The successful applicant will be expected to work unsociable hours in order to meet the needs of the business and this will include weekends, evening work and bank holidays as the business and role requires. Length of the contract will run from 1st May-31st October.

JOB FUNCTION: To support the delivery of Chelsea International Soccer Centres in Greece

PLAY YOUR PART (Main Responsibilities):

  • The International resort Lead Coach will support a range of football coaching programmes, in a number of international locations over a set period as set by their line management.
  • Programme development will include a range of coaching duties including holiday camps at a number of CFC Partnered resorts based predominantly in Europe.
  • In additions to core football development there may be a requirement to support a range of special events including bespoke activities, tournaments and festivals in this period.
  • Supporting promotion for activities will be an added responsibility in selected locations.
  • Developing positive but professional relationships with parents, players, coaches and local staff is imperative.
  • All members of staff will be trained to work to set standards implementing appropriate policies and procedures to uphold best practice and to safeguard the participant and staff involved in the programme.
  • Additional role duties will include responsibilities such as administration, online research and session planning, as well as relationship management of specific projects.
  • As a representative of Chelsea FC Soccer Schools internationally, there will be added responsibility around staff conduct on and off the fields, all staff will be monitored and supported by relevant programme manager and the staff operations manager.
  • On going CPD and attendance to training will be a requirement of this role.

HERE TO WIN (Measures of Performance):

All staff performance will be monitored throughout a trip and programme delivery by the designated lead and a formal review after each trip.

    Qualifications:

    Essential

    • FA Level 2 License coaching certificate (or equivalent)
    • Fluent in English – written and verbal communication
    • Valid Emergency Aid and Child Protection certificate

    Desirable

    • A Teaching, Sports Science / Studies, or related degree
    • An ability to communicate in other languages Russian and Greek would be advantageous to this role.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 1000 hours of Football Coaching delivery experience.
    • At least 500 hrs coaching experience within a professional football club environment
    • Coaching experience in a community development programme, with boys and girls of all abilities from 4 to 18 years.
    • Experience of working with international players and coaches (both English and non-English speaking) from different cultural backgrounds is advantageous.
    • Experience of working in a football / sports development environment is with club level players is essential to this role.
    • Experience of managing and leading an event or a group of staff is desirable.

    Skills and Behaviours:

    • Skilled in managing and developing professional relationships with parents, players and staff is an essential skill required for this role.
    • Good organisation skills, with an ability to maximize personal/team performance.
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills to manage and influence towards a positive outcome
    • Skilled in managing and developing working relationships to a positive outcome.
